Morning Activities for Parents
This city is full of history, great architecture, fantastic food, interesting people and vibrant streets.
One of my favorite things to do is walk around the city and get lost...besides losing myself to flamenco, of course. In this maze-like street structure, getting lost is not a challenge. Also during the day the city looks very different than at night. Most of the businesses and shops are close in the early morning, but when they open the streets look a lot more vibrant and quite different. Therefore, the points of references change easily. Luckily we have decent navigation systems nowadays, so if you get tired of not knowing where you are...you know exactly what to do.
Keep in mind that stores, shops, markets, etc. usually open from around 10 am to 2 pm and
re-open from 5 pm to 8:30 pm. There are some supermarkets that don't have siesta, so if you need to get some produce, look for a "Dia" supermarket.
Here are some of my suggestions for you to do while your Flamenquitxs are with me:
. Spa (just don't get massages, they don't give any deep tissue massage)
. Parks
. Mercado de la Feria (Market) (for tapas look for Bar La Cantina, also you can find great cheese, olives, local fresh produce, baking goods, wines, meats, etc.)
. Mercado de Triana (Market) (nice tapas)
. Guadalquivir River
. El Real Alcazar
. La Giralda (an Arabic tower that is about 800 years old and it is the highest tower in Sevilla. A lot of the stolen Inca gold lives in this beautiful and controversial structure. (Panoramic views)
. La Torre del Oro (Gold Tower)
. Las Setas/The Mushrooms ( it's a wood structure that hosts the archeological museum with Greek and Roman pieces -Antiquarium, markets, stores, restaurants and elevators to access the top of the structure to enjoy amazing views of Sevilla. There is also a Tourist Center!)
I will be adding more as the week goes by! Stay connected!
